The Stack Performance 3rd Member X-Brace was designed and engineered to increase rigidity to the LX/LC chassis by using superior design, strong materials and MIG welded junctions and reinforced mounting plates.

Your vehicle will benefit from this X-Brace by drastically decreasing chassis flex, and increasing the rigidity of the sub frame. Your vehicle will feel much tighter at higher speeds and will react in a tighter fashion in quick turn situations. The Challenger is notorious “wheel shake” at 70-80MPH. This will also be reduced.

Our X-Brace is mounted directly under the transmission, with plenty of ground clearance for vehicles using stock cats and exhaust manifolds, most long-tube header systems and/or stock exhaust manifolds with hi-flow cats.

Using this X-Brace in conjunction with any or all of our other suspension components will really allow you to take advantage of a well-handling machine.

Join your fellow Mopar enthusiasts and race the strip – not the street. AAA and Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California, sponsor NHRA Drags – Street Legal Style throughout the year, here’s the 2012 schedule which we last updated on Fri, Jan 20, 2012.

2012 NHRA Street Legal Racing Schedule

April 7, 2012

May 5, 2012

June 2, 2012

July 7, 2012

August 4, 2012

October 6, 2012

October 27, 2012
Halloween Street Legal

December 1, 2012

First Saturday

In 2012, the NHRA Street Legal program is getting a more consistent schedule. The NHRA Street Legal Drags will now be on the first Saturday of the month excluding November. In 2012 the Annual Halloween Street Legal race is on the last Saturday in October.

Dos and Don’ts

Snell Certified Helmet

Do be prepared to have a Snell Certified helmet if you expect to break a 13.99 ET in the 1/4 mile. Most of you will probably need a helmet, get one. Required in all vehicles faster than 13.99 seconds. Helmet must meet SNELL 2005 or better standards (must have label inside of helmet).

Tech Inspection and Fees

Do be prepared to undergo a vehicle tech inspection after you pay the fee to race which is $20.00 (per Tech Card). If you wish to spectate only, the fee is $10.00 per person. So, if you bring along a couple of friends, your total cost would be $40.00 for the day. If it is just you and a couple of friends, no racing, your total cost would be $30.00.

Appropriate Attire at the Track

Do wear clothing that is suited for drag racing at the track. Driver: Must have valid state driver’s license. Driver and Passenger: No shorts, bare legs, tank-tops, bare torsos, or bare feet permitted when racing. (Insurance Requirement).

Suggestion: Do not wear nylon type clothing like that normally used for working out. This type of material is highly flammable and if you’re racing, I suggest you prepare yourself and at least wear jeans, a good pair of driving shoes, a flame retardant shirt and/or jacket along with a nice pair of driving gloves. This is for your own safety.

Roll Bars and/or Roll Cages

Do be prepared to have a Roll Bar/Cage installed if you expect to break the 11.49 ET in the 1/4 mile. Some of you are quite capable of turning an 11.49 ET and I would strongly suggest that you have a Roll Bar/Cage installed or keep your ETs above 11.49. Don’t even think about getting by after your first 11.49 or better run. You’ll sit in the staging lanes and once you get close to the burnout pits, you’ll be asked to leave the staging area. This is for your safety, respect the rules and enjoy your day.

10 Second Rule

Don’t break the 10 second rule! There is a 10-second flat ET rule. No cars quicker than 10 seconds will be allowed. If you need an NHRA Competition License to drive your car at an NHRA Drag Strip, it is too quick for Auto Club Dragway during a Street Legal event.

Ballast During Racing

If you’re racing, do remove all ballast. Track rules dictate that you have NO loose ballast in the car, e.g. suitcases in trunk, loose stuff that can be easily turned into a projectile during an accident. This of course is for your safety. If you have to slam on the brakes during a run for some reason, the last thing you want is something flying within the compartment of the car or inside the trunk. Remove it before going to the track or be prepared to remove it at the track and place it in your pit space which is 10.0′ x 20.0′ in size.

Tips for Race Day

Tech Cards (Run Cards)

You can purchase more than one Tech Card (Run Card) which allows you to race in more than one group. This is not advertised and something that the regulars know about. Ask how many groups there are that day. When you see vehicles with multiple group stickers on their windshield, that means they’ve purchased more than 1 Tech Card. If there are 4 Groups and you buy 2 Tech Cards, go for Groups 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, spread them out.

Reduce Your Vehicle Weight

Reduce your vehicle weight as much as possible, every pound counts. If you are going to race during one of the planned event days in 2012, prepare to arrive with as little fuel as possible, I usually try to get there with less than 1/8 of a tank. There are two gas stations within a 1/2 mile of the track.

Grudge Racing

Grudge Racing is permitted at Auto Club Dragway. You’ll need to arrive in the Staging Lanes bumper to bumper, not side by side. Let the folks directing traffic know that you’re doing a Grudge Race with the other person, they’ll direct you into an appropriate lane. Once you reach the Burnout/Staging Area, let the staging boss know and you’ll be directed to enter.

Speed Limits

Please be careful with your speed as you approach the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana. Many of you can be heard in advance of your arrival. There are law enforcement personnel in strategic areas and it is in your best interest to maintain safe driving speeds and within the posted limits. Once you are inside the Auto Club Dragway, you MUST obey posted speed limits. No burnouts, no 360s, no showing off, track officials do not take kindly to this and will escort you to the gate.

Enjoy your Day at the Races!

Gates open at 6:00 AM. Arrive early and get in line. If you arrive at 05:45, there will most likely be at least 25-50-100 vehicles parked outside the facility waiting for the gates to open at 06:00 sharp. You’ll start your first race around 09:00. Tune your vehicle radio to 104.9 FM for the track PA announcements.

Note: Check the 2012 NHRA Street Legal Schedule below before planning. If inclement weather is predicted, there’s a good chance the event will be postponed or canceled. Notifications are usually posted on the Auto Club Speedway website.

In January 2011, Stack Performance received an invitation to speak to a class of students at Huntington Beach High School regarding C.A.D.

In early January, we received a call inviting us to speak to a class of students at Huntington Beach High School. We did not hesitate to accept this invitation giving us an opportunity to give to our community and help the early growth of a gifted group of high school students. We were honored to have been given this opportunity and more-so, excited to hear of the school’s offering of automotive based C.A.D. classes.

Joining Ryan in his presentation was Stack’s C.A.D. Designer, Jonathan Clingenpeel. Jonathan has 10+ years of C.A.D. experience. Jonathan shared his path of decisions in which landed him a job with Stack Performance. In this presentation, Ryan spoke of how he chose his career path and what lead him down that path. He also spoke about many of his designs, parts, and the reasons for developing such parts. Sharing interests with such an interested and talented group of students was very inspiring for Ryan and Jonathan.

In Ryan’s company was a small group of Dodge Challengers and members from the ever-growing SoCal Challengers. SCC Members Jeff Lowe, Jeff Garber, James Schaap, Mellow Sawyer, and Mike Barry really enjoy driving their vehicles, and more-so have dedicated much of their personal time to support local charities, car shows and the youth of today. Follow them at SoCalChallengers.net.

Stack Performance will be hosting a quarter long competition for the students enrolled in this course. The winner of the competition will be announced on StackPerformance.com along with a write up and picture. This student will also be designing a production part that will be sold on SP’s website. Please watch and support this program by watching SP’s Blog Posts.

Join your fellow Mopar enthusiasts and race the strip – not the street. AAA and Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California, sponsor NHRA Drags – Street Legal Style throughout the year, here’s the 2011 schedule which we last updated on Mon, Aug 15, 2011.

2011 NHRA Street Legal Racing Schedule

September 03, 2011 (Twilight)
Gates Open at 9:00 AM for Stacking
Ticketing/Tech Opens at 12:00 PM
Racing from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

September 17, 2011

October 15, 2011

October 29, 2011
(Halloween Street Legal)

November 19, 2011

December 03, 2011

Dos and Don’ts

Snell Certified Helmet

Do be prepared to have a Snell Certified helmet if you expect to break a 13.99 ET in the 1/4 mile. Most of you will probably need a helmet, get one. Required in all vehicles faster than 13.99 seconds. Helmet must meet SNELL 2000 or better standards (must have label inside of helmet). NOTE: In January 2012 the requirement will be SNELL 2005 or better.

For example, the last time I raced at Fontana (Dec 4, 2010), I purchased 2 Tech Cards at $20.00 each and ran in groups 2 and 4, there were a total of 4 groups that day with about a 45-60 minute wait between each group. This is not advertised and something that the regulars know about. When you see vehicles with multiple group stickers on their windshield, that means they’ve purchased more than 1 Tech Card.

Reduce Your Vehicle Weight

Reduce your vehicle weight as much as possible, every pound counts. If you are going to race during one of the planned event days in 2011, prepare to arrive with as little fuel as possible, I usually try to get there with less than 1/8 of a tank. There is a gas station within a 1/2 mile of the track.

Gates open at 6:00 AM for regular events and at 9:00 AM for Twilight events. There are 2 Twilight Events scheduled for the remaining 2011 season, one on Aug 13, 2011 and the other on Sep 3, 2011. Arrive early and get in line. If you arrive at 05:45, there will most likely be at least 50-100 vehicles parked outside the facility waiting for the gates to open at 06:00 sharp. You’ll start your first race around 09:00. Tune your vehicle radio to 104.7 FM for the track PA announcements.

Note: Check the 2011 NHRA Street Legal Schedule below before planning. If inclement weather is predicted, there’s a good chance the event will be postponed or canceled. Notifications are usually posted on the Auto Club Speedway website.

Scott Shriner of the band “Weezer” chose to show up at Stack Performance with his newly purchased Plum Crazy SRT8 Challenger. Scott had been searching for a shop he could trust with his new baby and wanted to improve the performance of his already badass SRT8 Challenger. He was looking to get his car to handle a little better and naturally, for some additional horsepower and torque.

Stack Performance had previously done some work on friend and band member Pat Wilson’s Challenger, also of the band Weezer. Pat recommended Stack for some mods and after a short conversation with Scott, we came up with his first package.

After coming home from a small tour, Scott came by and picked up his Plum Crazy SRT8 Challenger and it is now outfitted with:

Cold Air Intake

SP 180 Thermostat

SP Phenolic Spacers

SP 87mm Throttle Body

Hi-Flow Cats

Mopar/Corsa Cat-Back Exhaust

Diablo Tuner

SP Custom Dyno Tune

SP Chubby Pro Sway Bars

SP Challenger Lowering Springs

Hurst Short Shifter

SP Oil Guzzle Can

We are thankful for the opportunity to work with Scott on his Challenger. We appreciate his trust and look forward to his future mods.

Stack Performance and Ryan Schumacher are very honored and proud to have been chosen to assist and support the Dodge Motorsports and Team Samuel Hubinette Dodge Challenger for the 2010 Formula Drift season. Having the opportunity to tour with the team throughout the U.S. during the 2010 season was fantastic. Being a part of a fantastic pit crew is a great experience.

We are glad to have been able to offer custom built SP products for the Challenger, including Chubby Pro Sway Bars and SP Billet end links. We manufactured and fabricated custom end links for his car and bolted on our Chubby Pro as it’s available with no modifications.

We were also able to provide a hub at our facility for the Dyno Tuning of his vehicle throughout the season and watched the car turn from a “barely running” Challenger into a full fire breathing beast. A great team and excellent driver made for a great season. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Samuel and his team. We thank Samuel Hubinette, Stina Hubinette, Brad Manka, the guys at ES and all that made 2010 a successful season. We would also like to thank the SP crew for all the aid and support.

As if having our logos displayed on his car throughout the season at all races and many other events didn’t make us proud enough. Following the completion of Formula Drift 2010, we were also chosen to display our 4 logos on a collectible limited run die cast model. As a sponsor and team member, this is a huge honor.

We are very proud of this model. Any and all Dodge Challenger and/or Samuel Hubinette fans should show their support and make your purchase. A very small quantity of 600 cars has been made and thereafter will be unavailable for purchase. Be sure to get your models in time for the holiday.

Keep an eye out for our line of Stack Performance / Samuel Hubinette Signature Series parts in Summer of 2011. We take great pride in the growth of Stack Performance and give all credit to our quality products, quality service and excellent relationships.

Formula Drift Long Beach – Round 1

April 12th, 2010

On February 10th we had a stock Dodge Challenger 2010 sitting on the drive way to ES Motorsports shop in Riverside California.

At that time we did not have much time to get ready to start building a whole new Drift/Race car. So we had to find a engine builder, carbon fiber supplier, wheel sponsor and many other partners to make this happen.

With a lot of hard work from Team SHR-Dodge/BFG, ES Motorsports, Stack Performance, AIT Carbon and all the others that stepped up to the plate and believed in me. We ALL made this happen in a period of two months.

With only a few hours of testing at Adams Motorsport park two day days before the event, we qualified 8th and finished 6th over all in the championship chase. That is something we are very proud of. Now we know what we need to start to work on to make the Challenger even faster to keep up with the smaller and lighter cars out there on the FD field.

The car was so much faster right out of the box then I expected. The cool thing with the Dodge Challenger is that it feels so much smaller when you drive it. And with the performance upgrade from the BFGoodrich KDW 335s in the rear it really helped me with the forward and sideways grip we needed. When you get out on a track surrounded with cement walls you really need to have trust in your “only contact” with the ground and that is the tires.

Now we will re group and start to prep for next weekends Long Beach GP demo. It will be ACP, Pheiffer and myself for the team drift. ACP did great in the Viper he just need some more seat time and he will be golden. So the GP will be good for him because you get a lot of driving during that weekend.

Pre-Filters are designed to keep out larger particles of street debris such as rubber, dirt, and sand from getting into and clogging the pleats of air filter elements. Premature clogging of an air filter will result in loss of horsepower and an increase in service intervals.

Pre-filters are uniquely designed to protect your engine and the performance air filter investment without sacrificing airflow or horsepower. Particles as small as .005″ are filtered out extending filter life. Even in harsh conditions including heavy moisture, a pre-filter will enhance your filter’s ability to continue flowing the necessary air required for maximum performance while reducing the possibility of water ingestion into the engine.

Proper use of a pre-filter will save money on filter cleanings or replacements and extend engine life. Customers are reporting increased fuel efficiency.

Pre-filters are used and recommended by top professional engine builders and race teams worldwide. Pre-Filters will help prevent needless engine wear and tear, which will be obvious upon engine analysis during rebuilding.

Protects engine and air filter

Keeps out larger particles of debris down to .005″

Prevents debris form prematurely clogging filter pleats

Reduces service intervals and extends filter life

Saves Money
